![]() ![]() If you want to see what real protection entails, watch this presentation by the FBI and others at a security conference on how some criminals avoided being caught for 10 years: A single VPN should not be relied on for any significant protection It all depends on what your threat model is - what are you trying to accomplish.Ī single VPN isn't much protection against a determined foe. Also, it appears that Mullvad is somehow cheaper (3,99) in the iOS app than their normal methods.is there a reason for that? I like deals, but is it somehow any worse than a normal PayPal transaction? Should I just buy it that way and be done? So if I can already be associated as a VPN user through connection monitoring, may as well just not look sneaky about it. I'm sure I'll use Mullvad to feel safer about public WiFi to create a plausible "normal" use. So what's the point in hiding? Or is that more for those who want to take as few chances being associated with a VPN at all(whistleblowers, people in.less friendly places or circumstances) as possible? The trick here is that so long as you have a good reputable no-logging provider like Mullvad with solid encryption then that's all they know. I imagine anyone that really wants to know can find I'm using a VPN just by watching me connect to their servers. Even a little discount for crypto options, but I'm sure you pay that back somewhere along the line in transaction fees.īut are they worth all the trouble over just PayPal or iOS In-App purchasing it? As the title says, there's ways to stay something close to 100% anonymous while paying for Mullvad. ![]()
